Statement of the Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., Archbishop of Denver
"Consecrated religious life is an extraordinary blessing for the Church and the presence of consecrated religious in the Archdiocese of Denver is a great blessing for us here. The example of intense Gospel living is a reminder to all of us in the Church that the Lord calls each of us in our own state of life to rather extraordinary and heroic generosity. Simply by that good example and the reminder that it gives to each one of us is reason enough for religoius life.
"Additionally, the Archdiocese of Denver would be much poorer if it weren't for the ministries of the consecrated religious in our schools, in our hospitals, in our nursing homes, in our seminaries, and in the daily mission of evangelization, which is at the heart of the Church.
"It is my hope and prayer that the Lord will call many women and men in Denver to consecrated religious life and that our local Church will be worthy to receive the blessing of many consecrated religious serving here."
