Statement of the Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell, Archbishop of Hartford

Hartford's Archbishop Henry J. Mansell

The presence of people living consecrated lives as Women Religious is an extraordinary blessing in the Church. Sisters have a profound sensitivity to God. They understand that God's graciousness is sheer gift, calling for a response on our part.

Sisters know that it is not enough to say yes once. With all the challenges and trials of life it is important to say it over and over. The spirit grows by repeated acts of attention and focused energy.

The word "heart" appears in our Sacred Scriptures more than 1,000 times. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ offers us the continuing example of His heart. Sisters respond with their hearts to God's love in Jesus Christ and to people in need of their wonderful help.
